Do you have a purpose in life?
Are your daily actions and decision making based on that purpose?
I was sharing ideas from books a friend of mine and I have read this year and he sparked the idea for this blog.
The book he read was Cowboy Ethics.
My friend was talking about how it made him reflect on his purpose behind his actions. He said, “Happiness or success is not based on how much you have in life. It is about having a purpose and staying true to it.”
So what is your purpose?
It is easy to “go through the motions” each day and lose sight of why you even began travelling on the road you’re on.
The reality is that each day is MUCH more meaningful and the constant stress and obstacles that you face are MUCH easier to overcome when your actions have a purpose. A purpose that YOU believe in. A purpose you will forever fight for and defend. A purpose that is your own personal mission in life based on your core values and convictions.
The challenge is aligning your purpose for the betterment of others and the ultimate success story that will be told about your life. Make the time to reflect on what drives you each day to be something greater than you were yesterday. Live your life with a purpose and NEVER stray from your mission.
I’ve included the 10 Principles of the book he sent me below.
- Live each day with courage
- Take pride in your work
- Always finish what you start
- Do what has to be done
- Be tough, but fair
- When you make a promise, keep it
- Ride for the brand
- Talk less and say more
- Remember that some things aren’t for sale
- Know where to draw the line
I am looking forward to your continued success on your mission of positive and unwavering purpose my friends.
